Evaluation
A comprehensive assessment carried out by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. The process typically includes a family/parent interview, a language sample, formal and informal assessment measures and clinical observation. The purpose is to describe strengths and areas of need and to determine the presence of speech, language or swallowing difficulties. When necessary, a plan of care is established to set individualized goals based on results obtained during the evaluation process.
Following the evaluation, you can expect a report that includes a description and analysis of results. If therapy or early literacy support is recommended a personalized plan of care will be created.

Early Literacy Skills Support
Designed for pre-readers and emerging readers who may be experiencing challenges with early literacy. The Initial evaluation focuses on assessing early literacy and language skills to identify areas of strength and need. Services are available for children ages 4-7 who are suspected of having reading difficulties.
Based on findings, a plan is created. Goals may include increasing phonological awareness, improving sound-letter recognition, and supporting foundational skills for future reading success.

Consultation
Consultations provide an opportunity to discuss your child’s current stage of language development and address any speech or language concerns you may have. A licensed speech-language pathologist will answer your questions, provide strategies specific to your child’s needs and guide you with recommendations for next steps.
